YEMI ALADE has won this year's MAMA AFRICA'S power tussle over TIWA SAVAGE & NINIOLA with "SHEKERE"

A lot of albums and songs have been released since last quarter of last year and throughout this year but  the one that has stood out and has shone most is YEMI ALADE'S  SHEKERE  which features Beninese legendary singer ANGELIQUE KIDJO  a four times Grammy winner, her most recent one coming this year when she defeated our very own African giant BURNA BOY  and others to claim the award.

"SHEKERE" was released together with the WOMAN OF STEEL  album by Effyzzie Music Group and Universal Music Africa on the 30th of August 2019.

About the song in an interview YEMI ALADE stated that...

 `` KIDJO has been an inspiration to her while she was growing up and                                        it took two years to make SHEKERE ''

The song sample's KIDJO'S 1996 hit  '' WOMBO LOMBO '' and was recorded in English,Yoruba,pidgin & Fon language

After the underwhelming performance of CELIA album by TIWA SAVAGE and COLOURS  & SOUNDS album by NINIOLA been a floppy disk, it has become clear that YEMI ALADE is this year MAMA AFRICA.
